The Blue Tailed Skink

Amazing...Other than a month ago in my backyard, I haven't seen a blue tailed skink in over 25 years! My good friend, Paul Daughenbaugh, and I used to spend hours in the fields of southern California as kids catching them and other lizzards and snakes which we would keep as pets or sell to pet stores. About a month ago, I turned over a flagstone in my backyard and saw one slither away with such speed that I only saw a blue streak--typical of these little critters. I guess this was an omen of things to come, because today I was cleaning out my home office closet and sure enough I found a baby blue tailed skink lurking about! I caught him and am keeping him as a pet for a little while. The chances of finding a baby blue tailed skink in your home are probably less than getting struck by lightening! How this little guy got passed my cat with an insatiable appetite is anybody's guess! This is some heavy duty shamanistic medicine...what an omen! If any native American or native African can tell me the significance of the blue tailed skink medicine, I would greatly appreciate it!
